Your Time On Cape Cod Is Too Valuable To Worry About Home Maintenance Issues

Sentinel Concierge Services (SCS) was founded by Michael Croteau and Matthew Lewicki in 2007. The idea for the company evolved during numerous Saturday morning breakfast discussions. Mike, a seasoned remodeling contractor, would relate stories that told of the problems his home away from home owner clients were facing on an ongoing basis. Frozen pipes, rotting decks, broken ice makers, faulty outlets, downed trees,
...the list was almost endless.

Matt, a business owner and marketing consultant, recognized a pattern to the problems that Mike's clients were having. That is, that they were having a difficult time maintaining and securing their properties from a distance. Even normal maintenance issues were becoming a nuisance when a good portion of the time spent at their home away from home was being used just trying to keep up with the demands for upkeep. Emergency situations were even a bigger problem, taking valuable time away from other matters.

Research revealed only a handful of home watch service companies that fell into one of three categories:

1. High end home builders who agreed to provide continuing property management services to a few specific clients.
   
   
2. Landscapers who found this as an adjunct service to offer their existing clients.
   
   
3. Companies offering home watch services that are neither bonded or insured and, like the landscapers, they are not in the “trades”.

Research among home away from home owners showed a strong demand for a company that has the level of experience and hands on ability to resolve problems. As one home away from home owner told Mike, “I have this woman who I hire to come and check on my property a couple of times a week. The only problem is that if anything happens she can’t fix it. I’d have to have her call you”.

The data made it clear that there was a strong need in the marketplace for a full time Home Watch Company... a company with the level of experience and professionalism required to keep unoccupied homes functioning in their owners absence, a company that would eliminate the overwhelming, time-consuming and worrisome concerns of owning a home away from home.

And so, Sentinel Concierge Services, Inc was born.
